I HAVE HIS UNCTION TO FUNCTION! (1st John 2:20)

Above all rebellious reactions;
Against all blockade at tee-junctions and
Beyond all societal prejudice and reductions.
I have His unction to function!

At the hood of peer dejection;
Faced with loved one's rejection and
Landlord's threat of ejection.
Still, I have His unction to function!

Even when sacked 'cos of low production;
Which was a result of machine malfunction and
My resistance to confraternity induction.
I know still that I have His unction to function!

Lord! I'd not contravene biblical injunctions.
Not even when foes and facade friends are in conjunction:
In one to instigate me to take sacrilageous actions.
'Cos I know Your unction is sufficient enough for me to function!

What can frustrate us from waiting in hope?

Is it economic incapacity, social discrimination, peer intimidation, societal ridicule or family pressure?

Nay, in all these things we are more than accomplishers through him that we trust. For I'm persuaded that neither unemployment, nor promotional delay, nor marital delay, nor family connivance, nor any circumstantial difficulty worth thwarting our beam of hope in Christ Jesus.

Never forget to remember that anything worthwhile takes time.
Yours has reached the last phase of processing!

Were it left to me?

  1. Were it left to me to decide whether to die young being a crime-promoter or stay long being a brazen crime-promoter, I should not hesitate to prefer the former.

    Were it left to me to decide whether to starve for truth or to laugh-off injustice, I should not hesitate to prefer the former.

    Were it left to me to decide whether to be a humanist or to be a materialist, I should not hesitate to prefer the former.

    Were it left to me to decide whether to play all day with a time-manager or to share a minute seriousness with a time-waster, I should not hesitate to prefer the former.

    Were it left to me to decide whether to squat in the face-me-and-face-you of a destiny-builder or to relish in the duplex of a life-waster, I should not hesitate to prefer the former.

    Were it left to me to decide whether to be a fornicator or to be an adulterer, I should not hesitate to detest both.

    But, were it left to me to decide whether to be a problem-solver or to be a solution provider, I will never hesitate to be both.

AN ERA OF LEADERSHIP WE WANT AND NOT RULERSHIP

I don't think it's dis-reputing to pen that the kind of government we currently have in Nigeria is not leadership but rulership. While the former engenders true democracy, the latter embraces the awry doctrine of autocracy. True leadership isn't about domination but willful submission of the head to his subjects.

Isn't it hurting that a land saturated with men of innate valor now grumble in an orgy state of squalor? In my patriotic sympathy, I was partly heart-broken after knowing that 40% of the world's total natural resources belongs to the heartland of Africa. And still, she can't cater for just 10% share of her world population.

All loyal patriots ought to be worried that in spite of the immenseness of Nigeria's natural resources, homeless remain un-numberable at our bridges; educated and uneducated unemployed ones smell in every of her household; in short, lending from external purses during the planning of her yearly budget has become the country's nomenclature. "Does this not tell how dismal the situation is?" I leave the answer to our individual sense of judgements.

However, the current societal bane experienced in all strata of the economy exonerates that indeed, the stormy tide of under-utilization of endowed elemental resources has surged the ruling style of our so called rulers.

Also scrutinizing the line of awful events in our present day society, i foresee the posterity of this generation grappling so distressingly in the immediate yet to come future should our present countrymen fail to allow in the oxygen of the desirable change. Don't label me to be negative. This is because the much expected revolution we desire can only be made manifest by only one step which is: "an about-turn to our old ways".

Like the proverbial English saying and biblical verse in the latter part of the christian holy book that admonishes respectively that a word is enough for the wise and that he who hath hears, let him hear the words of the Holy one, i leave these words to taunt the psyche of all those in power this hour.
